To get things started on our new community site, I thought I'd share a few thoughts about online community networks and communities in general.

First off, the "rah, rah, America is great" speech. Yes, I believe in this great country of ours. I believe in its great diversity: diversity of thoughts, opinions, and culture just for starters.
